Varsity, Junior Varsity, Club, and Intramural...FAS Offers It All!
Franco American
School offers a full athletic program through the Ecumenical Athletic Association (EAA), as well as a host of club and intramural
opportunities to even our youngest students. In the fall, FAS competes in boys soccer, girls soccer, and co-ed cross country. We offer intramural Tae Kwon Do and bowling, as well club table tennis. During the winter season, girls may participate in cheerleading, and both boys and girls have the opportunity to play varsity, junior varsity, or intramural basketball. An intramural program in skiing and snowboarding is also available. In the spring, children have the opportunity to participate in softball, tennis, and track and field. Club kickball and intramural Tae Kwon Do and bowling are also offered.
Franco American School believes that athletics enrich the learning experience of our students.
However, core-curriculum and satisfactory conduct and effort must be the primary focus of each student. The following guidelines
will determine participation in sports events:
§ A student who fails
a subject or receives an “unsatisfactory” in conduct and/or effort in a marking period (report card or progress
report) becomes ineligible until the next marking period.
§ A
student who is ineligible is not allowed to practice or play with the team until he/she becomes eligible.
§ A student absent from school is not allowed to participate in practice or games on that day.
§ Team players are expected to show pride in the school and team and demonstrate respect, fair play, and self-control.
§
All uniforms must be returned to the school at the end of each season.
The
administration reserves the right to remove a student from any extra-curricular activity with just cause at any time.
A fee, determined yearly, is
charged for each sport to help defray expenses.
